Top 5 Free Apps for Instagram (Android)

Want to take your Instagram game to the next level for free? I've personally tested almost a hundred apps for Android. Here are the free best apps I've found to do the job.

There are a lot of similar hashtag apps available: you search a topic like "sunset" and it will present you with a slew of hashtags you can copy into Instagram. However, Top Tags also allows you to mix tags together, so if your sunset pic was also taken on a beach you can hit the tags for both subjects. You can even save your own custom topics and hashtags to the app, which can also be mixed with other topics.

This app gives you information that is both helpful and interesting. You can see which users are liking and commenting on your posts most frequently. It organizes your photos based on hashtags, location, or number of likes and comments. I highly suggest you play around with this one and see what you discover.

Editing: Lightroom

If Instagram's photo editing options aren't complex enough for you, I would definitely recommend Lightroom. The interface will be intuitive to those who are familiar with Adobe products. Lightroom gives you the ability to edit color channels with curves, set black and white points, and refine vignetting and cross coloring effects. Although these extra features are geared towards professionals, amateurs could get a lot of use out Lightroom's preset filters. If you're unsure whether you would utilize such features I recommend dipping your toes with Lightroom's preset filters.

Photo Retouching: Airbrush: Easy Photo Editor

This app would be great for anyone interested in perfecting their portraits and selfies on the go. Airbrush gives the ability to quickly cover blemishes, whiten teeth, and even out skin tone. You can even add makeup effects and slim your face. It packs a lot of punch, allowing you to make instant transformations to photos that you otherwise would have had to edit on a computer with Photoshop.

Quotes: Text Candy

If you're interested in starting a quote account I'd try out Text Candy. You can make backgrounds from your own photos or use their templates, colors, and gradients. If you're feeling particularly uncreative, it will even auto generate quotes for you based on certain topics.
